6055 Shaft Question

Roger, I have 2 ea. 6055 ph. I cleaned them both the other day but noticed that one has the steel shaft attached to the motor and the other did not. The shaft came right out with the impeller assembly. I reassembled the unit and it works just fine with no noise or vibration.

Does this need to be repaired or shall I just keep using it? The unit where the shaft came out looks like it's just a bushing that fits into a corresponding hole in the motor assembly.

What do you think?

Regards,

Pat

I have the same question.
In fact, I have one of my 6055 where the shaft has corroded and snapped off. Are replacements available? Do you have assembly instructions for how replacement impellers should be installed when the shaft has come out of the motor block?

If the shaft comes out you need a new motor, it is not replaceable. The very first 6055's still had the Chinese shaft but only a couple dozen were made this way, most of them have the German steel shaft. If the shaft broke, send me the motor and we will replace it.

Thank you for the quick turn-around, RV.
The replacements are working fine.
EXCEPT....
The mounting bracket on one of the 6055's snapped off when I was re-installing the replacement motors.

Can you send me a couple of brackets, please?

Sure, can you PM me your name, I have all your info on file I just need your name. We changed the bracket in October so this is only a problem on brackets made prior to this time. Let me know how many older pumps you have.
