I was checking to see if the 6055 can be controlled with the various multifunction controllers out in the market with no problem? Or is it recommended using the multi-contoller with the 6055?

We only recommend our controllers and by the letter of the manual a non Tunze controller voids the warranty.

Thanks! I would just double check user feedback on whatever controller you want to buy, the main concern we have is if it allows the speed to go too low the pump can be damaged.

Well... I just have to convince the wife for more aquarium electronics! But I will do my research thank for the heads up.

So Roger, on the issue of pump speed. I just bought 2 6055's and I'm considering a controller. Should the dc switch be set to maximum flow when connected to the controller?

It can be set to any of the settings and it will work, the problem comes in if you had a controller that could do say 20% power at the lowest setting, the coil is not sufficiently energized to suspend the magnet at this speed so the parts clank around and wear.
