6080 on/off time

I have my 6080 on an ACIII and was wondering what the recommended
on/off time is?

I plan to use an OSC command since an RND command allows for 1-? mins on'off where as the OSC allows for a set time on/off.

Any known negatives to this?

Suggestions or experiences please.

The 6080 is not designed to be run on a controller/timer and switching on or off should not be more then every 15 minutes. You can read your instructions for details regards your warranty when switching and controlling.

I read it was not good for a wave maker type switch that had a hard start or random short on/off times.
I was thinking the ACIII with an OSC command would be good as long as the time was for an extended period ON/OFF and the DC8 is a soft start.
I was thinking 060/060-ON/OFF

I'll read some more and see if it tells me more or I probly missed something.

I am pretty sure there is no such thing as true hard and soft start I know Roger can explain this in more detail, my electrical knowledge is not so broad.
