6085 ON and OFF question

If I turn on and then turn off the 6085 pump every minute, is this OK or is it too harsh on the pump?

It is not designed for that, the minimum time between off and on cycles is 15 minutes, shorter cycles will break the impeller and front housing stops within a period of 2-6 months generally. This type of damage is not covered by warranty.

If I turn it on and off every 30 minutes, will this shorten the pump life or it is OK? Thanks.

It will, but not more than normal use, basically after 3-4 years you will need a new drive unit due to normal wear and loss of magnetic power, the off and on cycles at this frequency will cause damage to the prop blades but they should last at least 3 years so the overall maintenance is not increased.
