The hard plumbed return was too noisy so I added a section of vinyl tubing. It helped a lot with vibration noise.



Here is the overflow. The bigger standpipe is the full siphon smaller is emergency drain. Still need some sort of cap for it to keep fish and snails out.

You normally want the larger to be open drain overflow and the smaller to be full siphon. less noise that way when water starts going into the open drain, plus more capacity. Also make sure your sump can handle draining the display down to top of full siphon when power fails and the baffle into that chamber leaks, it will eventually.
