60x30 reef

Still need to figure out PS CS4 I've owned it for over a year and have never even tried to use it(too intimidated). I do need to stop procrastinating and get on it I hate posting without trying to edit first. These were taken with my Canon 50D with 70-200, 16-28 and 100mm macro lenses.

Very nice setup !
Love that aquarium size, and the coral choice.

Could you add some FTS ? ( by the front..)

Thanks for sharing!

Stunning Reef!

I simply love the way you have SPS colonies all the way to the sandbed.

I would love to see a few full tank shots :)

Thanks! I pulled a ton of live rock out of my display to give the coral more room to grow and increase the amount of negative space. I think it looks a lot better this way.

I messed around a bit in PhotoShop today but couldn't figure out how to save my edited pic as a jpeg so I wasn't able to upload it to photobucket... so here's a front of tank shot after my iPhoto edit.

Just go to File... then Save for Web. It should either already be on JPG at that point or else easily selectable.

Thanks for the compliments.

I want to learn image stacking so I've been taking these multi focus point macro's of some of my coral. Now I just need to figure out how to merge them all into one image. I'll post my results once I figure it out.

In CS4 I believe it's File > Automate > Photomerge.

I did it in CS5 for a macro spider shot I took, I really liked the results. I had to do some manual layer correction but it did a good job, it got me at least 50% of the way there.

I do quite a bit of jumping spiders and have found that helicon focus is one of the easiest and quickest to use IMO

By the way, i love that tank size. It looks great!

Incredible! Impressive riccordea colony you have there! How long did it take you to grow?

Could you do another shot of the cup coral colony? i'm curios to see what a whole colony looks like..

What fish are in there btw?
Thanks

Thanks I'll try that out.

Thanks for the compliments and the tip. I read an article a while back that talked about Helicon Focus but had forgotten the name of the software. I'll check it out if I can't figure it out in CS4.

I lost a four year old ricordea collection to Hurricane Gustav back in 2008. I decided to start over and started this collection in September 2009 with 14 polyps from Coral Morphologic.

I don't know what you mean by cup coral. I have a sun coral (Tubastrea) in there, not sure if thats what your referring to but here's some pics.

Current Fish list:

7x Green Chromis (Chromis viridis)
3x Green Clown Goby (Gobiodon atrangulatus) Breeding
4x Orchid Dottyback(Pseudochromis fridmani) Breeding
2x Cherub Pygmy Angel (Centropyge argi) Breeding
2x Leopard Wrasse (Macropharyngodon meleagris) 20 months eating flake
1x Scopas tang (Zebrasoma scopas)
1x Mystery Wrasse (Pseudocheilinus ocellatus)
1x Hoeven's wrasse (Halichoeres melanurus)
1x ORA Spotted Mandarin (Synchiropus picturatus) 10 months eating pellets

I plan on removing the Mystery Wrasse and Hoeven's Wrasse, both are a little to aggressive and keep eating my small shrimp. I will also be removing the Orchid Dottyback's because I don't find them nearly as interesting as the royal gramma's I usually keep.

I plan on adding 20 Longspine cardinals (Zoramia leptacanthus),
6 Royal Grammas (Gramma Loreto) and another spotted Mandarin, once I figure out if mine's male or female. As you can see I try to never keep solitary specimens.

Forgot a few:
4x Orange Skunk Clowns(Amphiprion sandaracinos) Breeding
1x Yellowtail damsel (Chrysiptera parasema) too fast to catch and I've had him for four years so I'd feel bad kicking him out.
1x copper lined cardinal (Apogon margaritophorus) Had a pair but I stressed them out while moving coral around and one died.

A few more
