6100, 7091, and photo cell....

I just bought a used 6100 stream, a used 7091 single controller and photo cell. Most everything works great and I really like the craftsmanship Tunze puts into their products. They are very well thought out and have an obvious attention to functionality. Anyways, the photo cell doesn't shut down the 6100 when I cover it with my hand or leave it in a dark room. My question is how can I determine if it's the photo cell that's causing the problem or if the 7091 isn't reading it correctly? TIA.

It should not shut the pump off but it should slow it down if set correctly. It will run at the speed set by power knob 2 and the corresponding LED should stay lit.

Thanks. It works just like you said. I misunderstood how this feature operates. I thought it would completely shut down the pump once the lights went out. I guess it makes more sense to run the pump at a slower (or whatever desired speed) to keep some circualtion when the lights are out.
