6100 cover mods

Roger,
Do you know anyone that has modded their impeller shroud? I already upgraded to the 6200 shroud, but like the dispersion better w/out a shroud, but not sure how safe for the fish that would be. Have u seen anyone mod the shroud?

my issue being the 6100's are on the side they are in close proximity to my SPS and as they grow it will become more difficult to avoid direct blowing and found it to be nice w/out the shroud, but troublesome as well awaiting a fish fatality.

I have not seen firsthand any mods except the shroud completely removed, I have seen some coral propagators run the pumps that way.

I do like the flow i got that way, just dont want to wind up with sushi though
