6100 not spinning?

Roger,

I have a 6100 on a 7095 controller and all was well until the alarm went off. Looking at the pump I don't see anything wrong with it and I've gone through the cleaning process. All parts look fine and clean.

When I assemble the pump back it seems to not be spinning completely - seems more like it is rocking back-n-forth. It might spin but then then it "sticks". I guess that is a good way of putting it.

Anything I can check for?

Pumps purchased 08/2005 and have been cleaned twice now.

No I haven't. I'll do that now and check it when I get home from work later today.

I did try the pump on another driver, same results.

Basically, just spins very slowly then stops. Will let you know the outcome of the soaking.

Thanks.

Well after a day of soaking the pump is now clean of everything, but same issue.

I took the prop assembly and put it into another pump, works fine. Took prop assembly from working pump and put it in pump with issue, same problem. Does not spin properly and then stops causing the alarm.

Next thought? Does it need to be returned for evaluation?

Thanks.

Todd

Hi Todd,

Roger would be better suited to take it from here for troubleshooting. Cleaning them and making sure they are completely free of any debris is the only thing I could recommend doing. Unfortunately Roger had to leave town on short notice due to a death in the family, but should be back and able to contact him by early next week.

If there is anything else I can do for you in the meantime please don't hesitate to let me know, jeremy@premiumaquatics.com

Thanks,
Jeremy

I have the same problem. Stream 6260.10 Wavebox. Propeller turns very slowly, generating almost no flow. It does pulse on and off, but no flow. Worked great for about 8 months. I have cleaned unit as per above sticky. However, this has not resolved the problem.

Do I need to replace a part(s)? Or do I need a new unit? (hope not, $500 is lot to shell out for something that lasted less than a year).

Any help, suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you

Well, I've soaked again, used toothbrush and still the one pump does not spin correctly; however the prop assembly works fine in another pump.

Basically, its spins but no where near what it should be a few minutes it stops and the alarm goes off.

So, I'll bump this again so that hopefully Roger can guide me what to check next.

Tried one more time and still no go. Assembly spins yet not to full speed, then after a very short time (less than 1 minute) the alarm sounds as the prop assembly stops spinning.

I have pulled this apart multiple times, cleaned it multiple times and soaked it for three days now.

I would assume there is something wrong with the pump itself as the driver and prop assembly work fine on my other 6100.

Roger,

How can I proceed with getting this looked at?

Todd
