6100's always creating sand storm

Hi,

I have 2 6100's in a tall 150 (36" tall). With both on and on the lowest setting and at the top most portion of the tank, they continually blow the sand around, creating pocket areas in the corners of the tanks.

I have tried putting these in different positions and different aiming, but to no avail.

When I go to one, I can mostly reduce the kick up, but it is still enough to cloud the tank with dust particles....

Are these too strong for the tank? Currently I am using the magnetic holders - should I try the fake rock holders? I am thinking that if I had so way to angle the streams up that it would help...

Thanks,

Shawn

You can angle the magnet holders slightly so the pumps point up, somebody here on RC figured that out, it makes the pump mount less stable so you want to zip tie it but you basically twist the magnet holder so the pump is angled and not level.

besides putting the magnets on an angle..which by the way was my bright idea :)
you can also place one up high and one slightly lower. I do this on my 180 and angle them upward. I occasionally will have a sand storm if I move the position due to cleaning etc. Long and short mine are both on the highest level. I also have the control positions opposite of each other. Good luck
