6101 magnetic holder issue

Hi

I purchased 2 6101's about 60 days ago and have them working on an aquasurf. It seems on one of them the part that is attached to the pump that slides down on the holder is very loose fitting, the other one is fine.
The one that is loose is letting the 6101 move up and down a tremenous amount as the pump pulses. It is a very sloppy fit at this point and is letting the flow fall to low.
Anyone have a fix or workaround to fix this?

Magnetic holder is a 6080.50

Thanks in advance for any help you could give me.

Do you mean the fit of 6080.40 into the pump or the fit or 6200.23 onto the magnet holder?

There is a bar that slide onto the pump body, that bar connects to another piece via a thumscrew that allows the angle to be adjusted.
That piece slides down into the magnetic part. This is the piece that is real sloppy. It is the part that actually connects to the magnetic part by sliding onto it.

Hope that helps you better understand....

Do you know if the bad fit is due to the 6200.23 or the magnet holder? Since you have two could you compare and see which piece is different?

Hi

I switshed the bases around and now they are both bouncing but not as much as the one was.

It makes me believe that both pieces have worn or loosened to some extent.

Is this a problem from using pulse type control?

Thanks for any input you can give....

Both magnet halves are identical. What I would suggest is PM me your name and address and I will send a new holder piece and try the outside half of the magnet. The fit is deliberately left a bit loose. They did this so that after coralline and tube worms, etc, grow, the pump can still be moved.
