6101 with magnet - how do I keep it pointed in the right direction?

I have a 6101 I just moved from mounted on my siphon box to the middle side of my tank using the magnet instead of the bracket. It is on a 7091. It won't stay pointing across the tank - it turns in a period of an hour or so to point towards the front of the tank. Anyone have any tricks to keep them pointed in the direction you set them at? Something that could sit between the magnet and the pump body to prop it out maybe?

The 6101 would have included the hinge piece 6200.230, this piece has a screw that you can use to clamp down the pump so it cannot turn on its own.
