6101s, Wavebox, and a 7095

I finally got all of my equipment in and running and I need some assistance getting it all rolling.

I've got the 6101's on opposite ends of the tank and hooked to the 7095. I've got the Wavebox still hooked to it's controller. My tank is a 6' 125g (72x18x22) and I was wondering what the proper settings for the 7095 would be? Can someone provide some assistance? Here are my goals...

1) Wavebox on while the lights are on or alternating on and off every few hours.

2) 6101's providing circular current, pulsating from low to high power levels. Alternating would be neat, but if they both run the same power levels, that's fine too.

3) At night when the light sensor hits, the pumps cut down on power and the wavebox goes off (or little/no power)

Any suggestions?

BTW, thanks to the guys at Tunze in Austin for the quick turn around on my wavebox. I liked the wavebox so much that I went right out and snagged some 6101's and a 7095. :D

Thank in advance,
Ed

Also, what channels on the 7095 should I plug everything in to? I've currently got the 6101's in channels one and three with it alternating power levels on them and the wavebox is running off of it's controller. (With my AC3 shutting it down at night) I know I need to put the Wavebox into external mode and hook the slave port to a channel on the 7095, i'm just not sure which one makes sense to use.

Thanks again,
Ed

I just had to throw my .02 in here...and you can wait for Roger or someone more knowledgeable than I to assist you better...

But the ocean doesn't slow down at night. I have a wavebox, and 3 6100's currently in a 180. I don't slow anything down at night. Some will tell you that the ocean is actually MORE turbulent at night than during the day. And why would you want to turn the wavebox off every few hours? Just leave it on 24/7! ;)

Set your stream on interval II with on pump on each channel should achieve the goal that you are expecting

3) At night when the light sensor hits, the pumps cut down on power and the wavebox goes off (or little/no power)

The wavebox will goes off completely when the sensor hit

Any suggestions?

Fair enough, the biggest reason is for my own personal benefit! I have the tank in my living room and the wave box jamming all night can get irritating when i'm trying to watch TV late in the evening. Although I do strive to simulate the ocean as much as possible, I also strive to not totally inconvenience myself for the sake of the tank. ;)

Maybe I should just shut the wavebox off for noise purposes and jam the 6101's 24/7. I'm actually thinking about getting another 6101 or maybe another pair. My tank is LOVING the flow from these things!

Fair enough...but what do you mean about the wavebox 'jamming all night'? Again, I'm no expert and never claim to be, but I ask because I have one running currently and it doesn't hardly make a peep. I wonder if your pump is not running right? Either that or all of the OTHER nice sounds from my system drown out the wavebox! LOL

It resonates the canopy a bit because of it's position in the tank. Not too much but i'm super sensitive to noise. :( I'm working on a fix for it though with some vibration dampeners where the canopy touches the tank rim. I love that wavebox and it would be cool if I could leave it going more.

Deal! How do I do that? Connect the wavebox to the 7095 and set it to "External" I know, but how do I set the 7095 to turn it off?

2) 6101's providing circular current, pulsating from low to high power levels. Alternating would be neat, but if they both run the same power levels, that's fine too.

On each channel? I'm new to Tunze i'm not 100% sure on terminology yet... so going from left to right on the bottom of the controller, would that be a pump in position one and position three? Where does the Wavebox plug in to? I'd assume it'd be on the same side as the pump that sits next to it?

3) At night when the light sensor hits, the pumps cut down on power and the wavebox goes off (or little/no power)

The wavebox will goes off completely when the sensor hit

Awesome. So there's no special setting for it then? It just knows to cut off?

All personal reference

Thank you so much!

So just a run down... Let me see if i've got this down.

Set the 7095 on interval 2, plug the left 6101 into the first plug. Plug the right 6101 into the other side of the controller along with the wave box. (The right 6101 is on the same side as the wavebox). Set the wavebox's controller to "External" via the jumper.

After that, install the photo sensor and make sure the "night mode" is lit up on the 7095.

Will the min/max power levels on the controller affect the wavebox or does it's controller continue to set the power levels?

What i mean was. Set the wavebox on light sensor and have it off at night only.

From left to right you will use the first and third. Honestly, i don't recommend running the wavebox together with 7095

Your wavebox should come with the light sensor, once you install the light sensor it will activate the night mode.

Ah, okay. I'll have to get that working or i'll just leave it running on my AC3. I have the usual problems with the light sensor on the wavebox constantly coming out of the plug. :(

That makes sense. I'll stick to running it on it's own controller.

Got it. I've got the pumps set on interval 2 and they seem to be spinning up and down, opposite of each other. The wavebox is on it's own controller again and my AC3 will kick it off / on for me until I can get my light sensor rolling.

Looks like i'm set! Thanks guys.
