6105

Roger,

I want to buy a 6105 with the 6205 wide flow cover. All of these new changes now including smaller magnet are confusing for consumers. How do I know the pump I am purchasing has the wide flow cover and improvements to the impeller? I plan to purchase from a large vendor in the next few days.

Thanks,
Mike

The new 6105 comes with 2 covers, one for narrow flow and one for wider flow (which i assume is what you mentioned, the 6205 cover). It also comes with 2 jumpers which you can change your flowrate. one is 24v and the other 12v, the standard attached to the wavemaker is 18v.

We had not recieved any 6105's since early September up until 2 weeks ago. In that time, I think everybody who had older stock sold out. The new ones have a new label with an underwater scene that looks like the open ocean from just below the surface looking up at a wave, the specs on the box will also say magnet holder for .59" instead of .74". Everything we have received in November has the wide flow housing, 24V jumper and weaker magnet holder.

I assume you can also tell by the price. I've seen some vendors listing the price as ~$356 while others still show the old ~$326. If your vendor is charging you $326, then you'll likely get the old version and vice versa.

Not necessarily, we honored the old price on backorders and many dealers have passed that on. The price will be increasing but many dealers may keep the old pricing through the year.

Roger,

I just received my new 6105, but it does not have the new wide flow housing. What should I do about this? I'm in Canada.

Thanks,
Andrei

The US and Canada have separate distribution channels, the new pumps with both housings just started shipping a few weeks ago. It is possible that in Canada they still have some of the older version in stock, you would need to contact your dealer. The price did increase with the two housings and in general the cost of a 6105 with the wide flow housing is the same as the cost of a 6105 and buying the housing separately, the only exception is many US dealers had backorders from prior to the change and we honored the old price and most have past that along to the consumer.
