6201 still loud

I let the pump run for a few weeks to see if it quiets down but still no luck. I was told that it may be the magnet vibrating but it still makes the same clicking/vibrating after it was taken off of the magnet clip. If I tap on the pump it stops making the noise but then starts back up shortly after. Any suggestions?

Make sure the bearing bush, part 3000.620 is all the way in. I have seen this part slide forward in shipping or from a dry start.

Are you sure it is a 6201 and not an older 6200? I ask because the drive units are different and with the older 6100.60 drive unit there are more possible sources of clicking. A 6200 has a blue or silver driver box and a heavy round transformer. A 6201 has a power supply like a laptop and a small black junction box.

OK, I think you likely have the old drive unit and this can be noisy for many more reasons than I listed. Can you take a look at the cleaning thread at the top of the forum? The first few posts are about the old drive unit. If this is what you have I would try a thorough cleaning and disassembly. If the motor has a label on it that says 6201 then the only solution is likely to buy a new 6200.70 drive unit. This would mean that likely the motor was replaced in the last year. Since the 6200 is obsolete they started using the 6201 sticker to label the replacement motor blocks as the technical data is the same. If so the motor probably has a mismatch of new and old parts, particularly the bush bearing 3000.620 which comes with the motor. These parts changed slightly over the years to improve cooling and reduce calcium build up and they don't interchange well between revisions, they will work but they make noise.
