6201 Vz 6260.10

Some time ago I had a wavebox pump die. It was replaced by the importer with one of the pumps that developed internal blisters, which was in turn replaced by one with a white core.

Now, about 6 month down the track, this pump too has died, of at least gone on to permanent low power and runs very hot (actually exactly the same failure as the first wavebox pump).

I have just received yet another new pump and noticed that it is a 6260.10 whereas the one with the white core, which has just died, was a 6201. I see that the 6260.10 is the correct pump for the wavebox.

What is the difference between them? Is it possible that the white cored one has died prematurely because it was the wrong pump?

Interestingly, my other wavebox has operated flawlessly since it was first installed.

6260.10 is the correct pump for tunze wavebox. I have 4 wave boxes, 2 new and two old. Two old model is 6260.10. The 07-08 model has different number.

On the same note, 6201 is just a circulation pump.
 
That is basically what I figured. It looks like I was sent the wrong pump when I had that earlier failure. I didn't look at the number on the pump at that stage.

The question remains though, could using the 6201 pump in a wavebox have accelerated its demise?

6201 in a wavebox may shorten the life of the pump due to the fast on/off interval. It may cause the motor to get burn out.
 
Actually 6201 and 6261 are the same motor, only the power supply is different. Just like a 6260.10 and 6200.10 were the same except the power supply. It just is a defective pump most likely.
 
Yes but some late model 6200.10 were labeled 6201 because they ran out of labels, this was for a very brief period during the transition to the new style motor. A 6201 has no driver box and uses a different transformer.
 
Looks like I got one of those. It was an old style (ran off transformer & driver rather than directly off switch mode PSU) and it had the white insert that was used after the 'blistering' problem.
 
I think it was just a defective motor, that entire early summer time period last year was very rough, there were 15 new employees in production which is basically 1/3rd of the workforce being new. We had changed plastic to comply with new roHS and TUV standards in the spring and that resulted in the blistering and then we had to change again and there just was a lot of chaos. That seems to be behind us now.

i have tunze 6260.10 pump, a friend of me left it to me, and there is no driver nor transformer. it is only the pump, i want to ask you, what type of an adapter do i need to run this in pulse mode with time role or timers?

and also is the adapter i ll choose differs for pulse mode or continuous mode?

my friend said that u need 24v ac to ac 1,5 amper adapter.

is this correct or it differs from pump version somehow?

This would be very difficult, the driver and transformers are scarce and have not been made in 3 years. New drivers are no longer available, the transformer 6200.800 is still available but the stock is limited. You would need both and likely are looking at about $150 if you can find a working used driver to get a 5+ year old pump running and the motor may or may not work. I think it is best to get a complete new pump. You would need a controller like 7092 or 7096 to get the pulse function. You have less than half the value of the pump and unless you are sure it works, it is not worth it to invest more in parts that are hard to find and only available used (driver).
 
hi, thanx for your reply, but i need some additional info, this is the text on my old pump "6260.10 and input: max. 20v, max. 62w" . i think it s the first produced tunzes wavebox pump :)

i try the pump for 1 or 2 seconds with an adapter ac/ac 1 amper, 15v and i got action :) i see the impeller turns but very weak because of the amper and volt is lower. and i also try it with time role 0,5 seconds on off, there is no problem, it works, so the pump says max 20v and i understand that i need an ac/ac adapter like 3 amper for 62watt? or the right one is 20v 1,9 amper for 38 watt?

if u help me, i want to make a diy wavebox with constant wave without driver and controller

would u please help me? if so i m very pleased.

It is not possible to run the pump without a driver. The minimum is a driver and transformer. You would need a timer that can control between .30 and 2.00 seconds very precise, and in general such timers are more expensive that the controller.
 
hi again, i found an AC adapter 19vac, 3000 mAh, and i tried it with this 6260.10 , it works great :) but only continuous mode, and strong waves. when i try for 0,5 sec on , 0,5 sec off. the pump sometimes makes noises and doesnt get started. maybe it s because of AC motor, and i think the impeller sometimes hits the case and try to correct itself for the right spining way.

and i can say that u are right :) again i want to ask is there a way make the pump works fine in pulse mode without driver, because my pump 6260.10 20v. 62w. is old and hard here to find a suitable driver and adapter.

hi,

i found an old tunze electronic 6000, with 7210.202 transformer and 7410.602 driver. the pump is connected to the driver, and i want to replace 6000 pump with 6260.10 pulse only pump, i read this forum so learned that with small transformer my 6260.10 get start but half strong? is this right?

and how can i replace the pump 6000 with 6260.10, i have an idea to cut the cable 50 cm away from the driver and connect the same colored cables with each other?

will this be fine ? or any other suggestions? thanx
 
Open the driver, unplug the 6000 motor and plug in the 6260.100 motor. Change the propeller of the 6260 for the 6000 and you should be all set and the pump will essentially be a 6000.
 
i did all, change the propeller 6000 to 6260.100 and also update the driver with 6260.100 but when i try to start i only hear a little noisy sound from the pump. what may be worong with this? i think the transformer is weak because with 19v 3000mah diy tarnsformer i see the pump working, waiting your advices, thanx
 
It could be, in general if the driver made an alarm the problem is the motor, if the driver made no alarm the problem is the driver.
 
driver works fine with 6000, i want to ask smthg just to be sure, those impellers body are the same size right? only the propellers are different? i mean 6000's fan is a little small?

when i try without driver, 7210.202 transformers gray and brown cables to the 6260.10's gray and brown cables the motor pump starts well with two impellers.

also my driver has an option switch for power to set to max., it is set to max by default. any suggestions? thanx
 
hi

driver makes alarm with 20v big adapter so is there a way to repair the motor? but the motor pump starts when gray and brown cables connected to adapter only
