6g jbj nano macro tank

Hi everyone. So been keeping nano tanks ever since i started in the hobby.I had this tank set up for a while before i gave it to a friend. well it ended up just sitting for a long time so decided to set it up once again. Decided to do something different so i removed the PC lights and filtration. here are some progress photos:

livestock:
bunch of macros
yellowtail damsel
few hermits
one snail

equipment:
HD par30 (i think)
JBJ 6g tank
tetra heater
Knano 240

Awesome tank!

Should have left it in the nano section so people could see, but I understand why it's moved, just glad I caught it before the thread header went away from the nano section.

I love macro tanks. I'd love to do a 20L thalassium tank one of these days....

Do you also have it plumbed externally?

it used to be plumed to a much larger tank but not anymore. might add a sump later on but will more than likely just leave it alone.

So everything is pretty much the same except that I took out the damsel and I'm looking to replace him with a different fish. Only I can't decide what fish to put in here. Any suggestions??

Psychadelic Mandarin? If he's the only one, and starts off small, I bet you'd have enough pods to support him (if the tank is old enough).

That's a nice fish. Right now the tank is full of little pods so I think one should be ok. It's between the mandarin or maybe a tailspot blenny

ah I cant wait to set up a macro tank but still trying to set up my main tank gonna try to grow some macro in there, ( running an ATS skimmer less system) but if not i am gonna set up a lil tank been wanting to do for years now...HA 1st tank not even up and i want another...

how often to you trim? what species are you finding grows best but not to much? how much do you ATO each day?

thanks. a coral tank with a display fuge would look very nice! that's something I've wanted to do too.

i trimmed heavily once to make space for more stuff but since then i only cut out whatever i see that's growing close to or on top of something else. its usually the caulerpa prolifera or the gracilaria mammilaris that i have to watch out for. the dragons tongue too but not as much. the others are growing but not too fast and don't look as invasive. so i probably pick out small chucks every other week or so. I'm not taking out sandwich bags full of this stuff but that's because i don't let it get that far lol
as far as top off goes, i usually top off twice a day. morning and evening. i don't have an ato yet but will soon. its starting to get hot over here so ill have to get out a fan and ato soon!
