7092 stuck in Wave box mode? i think

I just picked up a used 7092. I did a little manual diving and my understanding is to get out of wavebox mode you need to keep pressing the + and it will automatically switch over?

I have pressed it a number of times and held it down a while as well and it stays in the wave box mode. As in the pulse light never comes on and the throttle controls for the pulse mode do not do anything either it seems. Am I doing something wrong? or just missing something perhaps?

thanks,

Adam

Wavemode is .30-2.00 in .01 second increments, if you hold the + button it takes about 2 minutes as I recall to advance all the way through or 170 pushes. Pulse mode is 2-10 seconds in one second increments, 8 pushes and you are back in wave mode.

Hi there ,

Well. Must have hit that little button five hundred times and held it about ten minutes. Still no change over. No matter what button I press +or- the sequence doesn't seem to chane at all either. And the dials still don't adjust the power.

Think this thing may be shot? And if so may it be fixable?

The knobs only work in pulse mode, wave is only on and off. You are welcome to send it in and I will check it out, I have had a few reports of this but I have never had one pan out, they come in and work fine but their is always a first, it is theoretically possible for a button to stick or be pinched so it does not respond to pushing the buttons. When you push + do you at least see the time getting longer?

Unfortunately no. The two yellow lights continue to flash the exact same. That is what I was trying to explain but wasn't wording it quite right. :)

The button seems to do nothing at all. At this point at least.

I might try taking the front cover off, this is user accessible to change a jumper, it could be a button is stuck, you just pry off the two knobs and remove the two screws on the back. I would physically check that the buttons line up with the cover and you could even try it out without the cover, just be careful your hands are dry and you are free of static electricity, or you could reinstall the cover without the knobs if something seems off.

ok that did it. the button must have been stuck. once i took the front off i noticed it was a bit more evident as well. as in the button felt more like a button if that makes sense.

Thanks again,

Adam
