ok i did change it to Xon/xoff and click ok but 7096 still can't find it,,, No unit found,,
anything thought? thanks

Do you have a shorter USB cable you could try? Also I would attempt to download the newest version of the software on the Tunze site incase you are using an older build. I believe there are was change made at some point to lengthen the timeout period the program waits on the USB to respond. The shorter USB does the same thing or a combo of both.

Past that I am not sure, Roger may have more to add later

What port is the computer assigning to the 7096? Make sure that the Xon and xoff was assigned to that port and if possible set the 7096 to port 3, if it isn't being used.

tried to use my 7096 again tonight and send my configuration to the head unit and it says.............no port open????????????

Can you check what port it shows the controller on in your port settings? It should be on Com 1, 2 or 3.

Hi KVMN - sorry to hijack the thread but I'm having the same problems.

Hi Roger - Having same problem here. I am using a Macbook, with VMWare Fusion and Windows 7. I have done exactly as you have done yourself, also bought a shorter lead and I get a message saying either: "Unit not found" or "COM3 does not exist". Any suggestions?

I haven't yet used Windows 7, but it is compatible. I would go to your port settings and set the unit so it is on Com3, VMware will usually set up the iSight camera as Com3, Com1 and 2 will usually be more critical, like keyboard, mouse, DVD drive, things you need to have running. Then make sure you have flow control as Xon/Xoff and it should work.

Are you sure the shorter lead is a true USB cable? I know it sounds silly but I mistakenly used one that was only to power a device and didn't have all the pins. Are you using the disk that came with it or have you downloaded the more recent version, (note the web version is updated but has the same revision number as the software on the disk).

Hi Roger - yes cable, is a true USB cable bought from a computer store, not just to power a device. As for the software, I am using the latest version downloaded directly from Tunze.com website.

in the last day of using my controller Ive found that physically (gently) holding the cable at a slight angle to insure good wire contact with the USB cable to the controller helps when my computer cant find the unit. Thought Id share. Hope that helps

It could be, I was told this USB socket can be an issue but it shouldn't be, if so it is not well secured and should be repaired, but I will need to find out what we need to do to repair it.
