70watt MH fixtures

I'm thinking about getting a viper 70watt MH fixture for my 12gal nano tank, but I've heard that the PAR emitted from 70watt MH bulbs isn't much. Should I stick with my current 48watts of compact fluorescent lighting or should I upgrade? Any input will be much appreciated. :]

Where did you read the PAR for the 70w MH wasn't that good? I'd like to know.

I believe I read it in a thread somewhere comparing t5s to MH, this was a while ago though so I don't really remember.
