Thanks for your inquiry. The main difference would be the individual reflector vs. the single reflector with bends to mimic the individual reflector tha the current USA unit has. In terms of the ballast, both units will push 39 watts to the bulb so bulb performance is unchanged. The reflector material is also different.
The current USA units are very popular and our customers are satisfied with them. We don't carry the Aquactinics unit so i can't speak for them.
