7210/2 Kit for 30 gallon

Hi Roger-
I've been reading the forum for awhile drooling and saving cash to upgrade my flow in this new setup. Currently 3 maxijet 900s on a wavemaker in conjunction with a SCWD on my mag 5 return. AT peak I'm turning over 25-30x the volume of my 30 gallon (30"Lx19"Wx13"H). While I would love to get into a stream their flow rates are just not practical. I'm considering swapping out the maxijets in favor of a 7210/2 Kit (were these renamed TF2?). I may also include a non-electric turbelle for constant flow behind the rockwork. The 1" output is really appealing as these lil waterpics (maxijets) make coral positioning a b%#$@!

Just a couple questions about the 7210/2...it will be able to pulse flow between say 50 and 100%-and its a slow ramp up/ramp down change, right?

If I pickup the photoelectric cell I can plug that into the single controller, which will in turn slow the powerhead to the lower flow setting at night, right?

and for this goofy oceanic tank I need part 3000.244 to mount the powerhead from the frame?

tank is predominantly SPS with some choice zoos-that really seem to appreciate all the flow-somewhat subdued where they reside. would the 7210/2 be your recommendation? (acknowledging that i can't afford the TF05 and the TN05-also $ will have two powerheads mimicing one another-right?)

Thanks in advance for all your help/ideas! Looking forward to being a tunze owner soon!

ok...a lil more research reveals that the 7210/2 Kit is no longer. but buying the 7200/2 Turbelle Pump and 7091 Single Controller provides the identical product-no big deal.

are the big online vendors still selling them paried up at "kit" prices-because premium and champion both still list the 7210/2-if i'm not mistaken? (maybe this is a question more for them)

still would appreciate your opinion on the matter-and yes i realize its just an opinion, not the only way to skin a cat, but valuable nonetheless.
thanks again

Sorry,

I got in late last night from the Aquatic Gardeners Conference in Dallas.

The 7210/2 doesn't exist anymore, it is now two seperate pieces. This was necessary to streamline production and eliminate another run with another box and more products to store. I have notified all vendors that these pumps kits no longer exist. I will have to check into it, perghaps they have just kept the part number but are shipping the two seperate pieces.

I think in a 30gallon a 7200/2 with a single controller will be alot of flow but I don't think it will be too much if you are doing sps and based on your curent flow. Basically you will have less energy consumption then one maxijet and the flow of two of them. Because of the wide jet and the pulse action, overall I think you will have more effective circulation and find a lower overall turn rate will give you the same effect.

The photocell switches the controller to setting 2- so what ever you set for that setting is night mode. Yes, you will need part 3000.244 for an Oceanic tank.

As for the pulse, you can set two settings, anything between 30% and 100% and the pump switches betwen those two. Yes, the power does ramp up but in appearance of flow, this happens so fast it is more like a jump from 30% to 100% not a smooth acceleration.

ooh-ooh-roger?
do you know if the 7200s are currently in-stock at the "warehouse" and ready to ship? hoping to place an order shortly and it sounds like the pump would have to be drop-shipped from ya'll.
sincerely-

Unfortunately no, last week I asked that this product be bumped up in priority and hopefully we will get them on the next order, about 10days. I do have 7300/2 and 7400/2 in stock but I think the 7200/2 is the one to get.
