730g In-Wall Display

this build is ridiculous amongst many others I have seen on this thread. Nice work can't wait to see what is soon to come.

Also, my chiller has knocked the temps down from 90* to 75*, so I now know for FACT that a 1/2hp chiller can handle a 1200g system, despite what everyone says!

I must retract this statement, because while it was pulling it down perfectly when the lights were OFF, I can't get below 81* with only (4) lights on... I just ordered a 1.5hp Chiller to replace the 1/2hp.

It's not like I'm out any "extra" money per se, because I already had the 1/2hp that I hoping to be able to use. The real down side is that I now have 1/4hp and a 1/2hp chillers that I have no need for. :(

I would plumb the 1/2 hp into your system and set it a couple degrees above your larger skimmer as a back up. Both units on separate circuits.

If anything, I'll eventually buy a spare 1.5hp which I can slam into place if anything happens to the new unit. I'm big on having backup equipment on hand!

If all else fails you can always use craigslist

This build is awesome its like your letting us in on a new chapter of your life! Are you going to be starting new with your corals or I'm guessing your going to be transferring a lot over from your other systems. I just asked because you said you had a coral buisness and you know where to get the big pieces of coral probably like chingchai has in his tank.

The foyer wall is finally painted, and the tank is looking spectacular. The first few fish and corals will be added this afternoon, after we tear down the old tank at the old house...!

It's a bit cloudy at the moment, because I just dosed Purple-Up.

WOW! what an amazing set-up and I like the place you've situated the tank as well.
Curious to see the first addition of livestock in this great tank...

We spent all day bagging up all the livestock and tearing down my old system at my old house, then all evening dipping and acclimating the corals... For now they are all in the double stacks, but I'll begin placing them tomorrow. The 4 fish that I had are in the display and are absolutely loving life!

that tank looks sick i was just wondering do you have anything other than the door stopper to keep the door from swinging open and smacking the tank .

The tank is recessed 3 inches into the wall, so it's actually flush with the back side of the wall... It's not even remotely an issue. ;)
