Hi, I posted about 2 weeks ago. I finally have my tank partially set up. I haven't hooked up the multicontroller or the 2 6100's yet, but I did just hook up the 2 7400/2's about 1/2 hour ago. They are both running pretty loud. Is this common for new/first time use? I thought I read somewhere that after a while they will run quieter. If this is the case, about how long is it until they quiet down? Please confirm. Thank you!

In 2 weeks they should be much quieter. You might double check everything if it is more than just a low droaning noise. It could be a part slipped out of position in shipping. It is also a good idea to install the drive unit under water to get any air out. In about 2 months they reach the optimal.
