75 gallon build thread, nead advice on sump installation

On my 72 I have a 2 tube overflow going through a mag 12. There are two returns, similar to the way you have drawn up. I can barely feel the flow out of the returns. I think the pipes are 3/4".
I would definitely go with 2 tubes for protection. I've had one tube fail many times. My dad seems to have problems with his frequently.
I'm curious about the last baffle in your sump before you get to the pump. The sump on my 90 is the same way. If the water gets low enough that it drops down over that baffle I have a ton of bubbles in the display. Also, is the water going under the baffle before that one? It's not in your image. If it is, that is how my last baffle in my 72 sump is and I never have a bubble problem in that tank. So I would recommend taking that last baffle out. You may want to get other opinions first though as I'm no sump expert.

It is weird how some people have issues with hang on overflows and others don't. I never had a failure, just keep the flow high enough to blow any micro bubbles through and they work fine.
FWIW a Mag needs at least 1" diameter pipe to get the rated flow. Some pumps work better under restriction but Mag's do not.

using an urchin pro skimmer till i get some more money saved up for another skimmer. forgot to add ball valves on pic there will be on at over flow and on return line from mag pump to adjust flow.
how deep should i keep water level in sump its 32"L x 12"w x 20"H i'm changing baffle layout from drawing but not sure how deep water should be in fuge area.

I believe only your bottom glass is tempered, you should be able to drill the back. I have a CPR overflow box and it works great cause you can use an aqua lifter to restart it when the power is down. You don't even have to be around. A friend of mine has one of the CPR overflows for sale actually in case your interested.

should of had ro water done by now but oven went out and had to get a new one and all this has been during process of ripping carpet out of living room so i can put in hardwood floors. So i have been filling jugs when i can and dumping them in tank, i'll have to mix salt in tank cause between xmas coming and doing work in house no room for my big containers sitting around and basement don't have a sump for ro waste water to drain in so ro/di water is hooked to sink. that sump just barely fit under tank so for a 75 gallon stand a 32"L x 12"w x 20"T is probally about max size to fit under and have to thank stlouisguy for the awesome deal on sump and free zoo frag when i picked it up.
