75 gallon in wall project.

Hahaha! Lon you and everyone else wants me to drill it. I'm happy with my overflow I have used them for years, and like I said as long as it gets the water to the sump it doesn't make a diff to me. Now my next tank which will be a 180 gallon that will come reef ready.

Totally of topic (but love the build)

Hey - is that a boxer you have? Do you have any other pics? I love boxers... I have a white male myself...

OH! I know... I was just catching up on the tread and this was the first time I saw the doggie pics... :)

I had a white boxer male at my mom's house, really cool dogs. If/ when we get a dog it has to be a boxer. In my opinion there is no other dog like them. And my opinion counts! :)

Ok so I started aquascaping my tank tonight, I had about 30-50 pounds in the sump to seed the tank for the past few week or so. I will be using all of my rock from my 46 gallon and I will need this to finish aquascaping. What I was gonna do was gradually move it all over and then the corals and fish last, this will leave my 46 pretty bare. Does anyone foresee any issues in doing this until all the rock is gone? The corals and fish may be left with just a few pieces of rock for a few weeks to insure my new tank is ready. I assume that as long as I watch the water parameters and do water changes as needed it should be fine. My only concern was if I would be taking away too much of the bio filter and shock the tank.

Glad we're back on track, for a while there I thought this thread had gone to the dawgs:D

As long as you leave some rock in the tank and skim well things should be OK. I would check for nitrite and ammonia spikes to be safe.

Ok thats what I was thinking. I'm going to do ita little at a time so it should be ok. I figure a piece or twp every couple days should be fine. Nook didn't you know dog hair is essential in the reef aquarium?

Page 4 whoo hoo!!! Oh and I will have some new pics up soon, I wanted to get farther with aquascaping to get your guys opinion I think I may be on to something cool.

Ok I did some more aquascaping and here are a few pics.

I'm going for some what of a W shape wall, this will allow me to keep zoas and maybe some sps in the high flow area which will be on the left side of the tank, and keep my softies on the other side. Should be like two seperate caves.

I have a tunze 6045 in between the rock on the right side in the middle and hopefully the middle wall will keep the flow on this side or at least disperse it throughout the tank evenly. On the right side in the rear of the tank I have another tunze 6045 blowing across the back to keep debris from building up. I will add a tunze 6025 in the top left corner possibly or it may be moved to another spot in the tank depending upon where the flow from it goes, and if it is too strong.

This is the left corner if your looking from the front.

This is the rock left in my 46 gallon to be moved to the 75, I believe it's around 50-100 pounds of rock.

My internet has been down for about a week so I don't have any pics, but I hope to have that all fixed by tomorrow. I have most of the aquascaping done and I have moved 2 fish and about 6 corals over to the tank and they are doing well. I did lose my hippo tang to the new tank though, he was doing great in the tank just got too close to the power head and he was a tiny one so he did'nt have a chance. I'm debating if I should run two phosban reactors or just one, the one that I have will do up to a 55 gallon tank I believe. Anyone have any opinions?
