75 gallon in wall project.

It was an exsisting setup from another tank, so I just threw it on there as apposed to building a new one. I get more than enough flow from it though.

Ok finally I was able to get some new pics! I still have some aquascaping to do but this is a start. I also will probably buy a new surround due to the fact that my hi def cables will not reach. I figured I might as well since my surround is not HD ready and if I have to buy a new hi def cable it might as well be hdmi instead RIGHT!!

Do not buy cables at the store. Go to www.monoprice.com and save 90% off the crazy prices that charge at best buy.

I'm not sure what you mean when you talk about changing your cables or your surround system. What receiver do you have? I'd hate to see you spend a bunch of money on new AV equipment if you don't need to.

I have the hook up on cables. My surround sound slash DVD player is not HD ready so I use a 3 wire high definition cable. I saw a new version of the exact surround that I have and I liked it alot. Not only is it HD ready but you can also play and charge your IPOD on top of the unit. So I was saying that I would just buy a new surround and an HDMI cable instead of buying a longer high def cable.

If you have a component cable already (red, green, blue connectors) then you are already getting an HD video signal to your TV and substituting and HDMI cable won't get you anything other than carrying sound through the same cable. You don't need a digital audio cable going to the TV because you only get stereo out of it anyway. If you have a home theater in a box system then you also don't need to connect audio from the dvd to the receiver because it is all done internally.

By the way, unless you get a blu-ray player or the now obsolete HD-DVD then you won't get High definition out of your DVD player.

Sorry for interrupting your tank thread but something doesn't sound right with your AV plan and I'd rather see you pour that money into your tank :)

By the way, your tank setup looks great. I like the wall color.

Thanks Mp that actually helps me I was un aware that that was the only difference. I assumed you got a better picture from an HDMI cable as opposed to high def.

Wow--wish I would have known about that before paying $25 for a firewire cable.

By the way KVc... the whole wall looks great. Much, much better than I expected when I saw you were putting a tank under a TV.

HAHA thanks, I am more than pleased with the outcome so far. I still have a lot of work to do but at least its up and running that was half the battle. Plus if it were done I would get bored.

I have moved all of the corals and fish to the new setup and I also added more rock and did some aqauascaping, everything is looking good. Here are a few pics.
