75 Gallon SPS Dominate tank.

I have had the tank up for under a year it was a cephalopod tank but then broken down but kept the water and sand. I think the sand got stirred up quite a bit during the whole change. I have a sump on the tank with LR in it and some bio media with a skimmer. Any other thoughts what i should do. I will do a water change ASAP.

I lost the royal gamma and cardinal the same day and they died by pretty much not swimming around any more and they wouldnt eat. I also just lost my six line wrasse and he died the same way.

So i thought maybe i had lost all that i was going to lose with the initial shock but now the coral beauty is looking terrible. He has a giant white mark up his nose that goes about almost to the top of the back and a big white mark on the left side of him that goes to the top. It looks like the scales are just falling off or something. I dont want to lose him. Could it just be the aftermath effects from the shock of the high nitrates? I did a big water change today and got my nitrates down to 20 ppm. HELP ASAP!!!!

If I were you I would add as much high quality carbon as i could fit or if you have a canister filter fill iit with carbon and maybe add a Polyfilter pad and start doing daily water changes until you've changed out 100% of the water, like 10 gal a day for 7 days. It sounds like you still have ammonia or nitrite. If there are residuals from the stain the Polyfilter and carbon will pull that out as well as removing nutrients before they can turn into ammonia.

I lost the coral beauty this morning. All the other fish i added are still looking good.I am going to try and the chems perfect before adding more fish. Any other thoughts about why i lost 6/8 of my fish that i have had for almost over a year?!

I really believe that dead rock needed more time to cycle. Check and make sure your ammo and nitrite tests are not out of date or faulty
