750g show tank (L shape)

I concur that skimmer looks badass, definitely not your typical DIY job :D Although with an Abyzz pump on it (which cost more than most skimmers) probably could have had a couple garbage cans flipped on top of one another and still have it skim good :D

Let me repeat myself : impressive skimmer.

If you dont mind me asking, how have you glued main skimmer body to the bottom plate? I can see you have cut out a groove on the plate so i assume you have put the main skimmer tube into the groove and then used solvent to bond the pieces together.
I also see you have used hot air gluing technique to glue brackets that hold air tubes to the main skimmer body.

Can i ask you how much the skimmer cost you to make (not taking in to account the man-hours required).

Thank you :)

the body was weld on the bottom plate
and you're right the brackets were glue with the "hot air" technique

as for the price, I have asked him... and he didn't want to tell me... so I'm guessing more than what he told me it would cost him to make it...:headwally:

hmm not sure about that... may have done the job but would have look awful hahaha

seriously, J-F made a lot of calculations to decide the right diameter of the body, the high, etc. At the price it cost to make (price that I still don't know!!), he could'nt mess around

Wow...nice work on the skimmer! Looks like it works really well!

An awesome beast you've made !!!

greetingzz tntneon :)

Okay . . . just read all 39 pages over the last 2 days. All I can say is . . . . no words describe it. Simply beautiful . . . on every front. Great work! Will be following.

Very nice setup you have there...

Thank you all!
I'm happy that you like the setup and will try to keep the updates coming :)

An amazing tank and setup Marie! Glad to see these wonderful Canadian tanks.

I'm thinking that I may have met your boyfriend at MACNA last year. I don't see Marinetech with a booth this year...are you attending or did it not turn out in Does Moines?

Yes you probably saw us at Des Moines :bounce1:

but not we won't have a booth this year
we are way to busy to go :( and the time wasn't right for us
but maybe next year... we'll see :)

here's 2 more pictures

first one, our new skimmer beside our ap1004

and finally it's done!! we just have to wait for it to fill

i see your running the water from the UV to the skimmer? is that correct?

and you moved/removed the Deltec chiller.

lastly, are you going to put a carbon filter on top of the collection cup? that way there is less Stinch?

and, what happened to the dosing stuff that was on the wall behind the current skimmer.

yes you are correct

and you moved/removed the Deltec chiller.
we remove it, we will do something else... JF have an other project

lastly, are you going to put a carbon filter on top of the collection cup? that way there is less Stinch?

the cup is not finish yet, so I don't know, I know it will have a cleaning head but not sure if we will put carbon filter

and, what happened to the dosing stuff that was on the wall behind the current skimmer.
it's still there... it was never behind the skimmer but on the other wall

I thought that the pictures didn't show the real size of the skimmer so I take a picture with our dog beside it so you would have a better idea of the size

(our dog is a Rottweiler... he is not a small dog lol)

:spin2:
There is nothing goofier than a rotti......Lol
Poor guy looks confused do i lift my leg on it or not.......

now on the good stuff lol

we start to glue the tank!! all of the side panal are now done :D

some pictures... and yes the mermaid shot is there lol

:D :D :D

next, I'll told you all of the "little" thing will have on this beast you know like the skimmer and everything

Did you leave space between glass sheets ?
