I have two thermometers in my reef. One is the Big Alert Digital display, and then the other one is linked to the Aqua Controller II. The Big Alert is always .5 higher than the other, but at least in this way I have something to compare against and a secondary panel to glance at the temp whenever I pass by the tank.

Sorry for the lack of updates:(

I'm currently looking for a good Peristalic Pump to use for my feed for my calcium reactor. The aqualifter pump stinks:(

Coral growth is amazing:)

Who uses a PH controller with there Calcium Reactor?

arconom
I'm getting the 601 for my tank in a week.
I always use a small water feed PH And a small tee to release the pressure from the PH it works good for me for many years can you do the same with the Deltec reactor?

I just don't know how people are rigging it up:( I would love to see pictures. Also what powerhead would be good?

Zoom I have been searching for pictures and info if you have anything it would be VERY appreciated:)
I don't have a deltec reactor yet so i asked you if the size of the water inlet is for a 1/2 ID hose.
If it is is very simple to just use a MJ 600 the 1/2" hose fits very nice over the PH output and use a bypass like a small 1/2"tee to get ready the extra pressure I have my MR#5 reactor run like this for long time but i din't use a tee i just drill a 1/4 hole on the hose to released the pressure.
but if the Deltec is different size water intake nipple at the reactor i will fix something very similar to what i have now with the MR reactor .
If you need i picture i will take one for you right now.
But it is so easy just a PH in the sump from the PH with a hose to the reactor.

You should be able to find a good adjustable cole parmer dosing pump on fleabay for around $200. That is what a lot of people are using with their Schuran reactors. Make sure you do a search on them first so you know what to look for. You can search for the large Schuran reactor thread started by Ewan to get started. These are the only high quality, "adjustable", continous duty, and reasonably priced dosing pumps that I know of.

$200 pump to get some water to the calcium reactor.

Ok Ok Listen guys

I rigged up a Maxi400 it has to much pressure and is about to make the knob on my deltec leak.

I need a way to rig it so I can divert the extra pressure like zoom says.

But I don't know correct sizes.

I am using RO line and Air line hose.

Here is the peri pump that Ewan (Rob) hooked me up with on Ebay. Brand new in the box and shipped for $100 and change.

It is absolutely flawless, has a very accurate dosing control via a fine adjustment knob (speed control) and most importantly DEPENDABLE.

You have to use some tees but be sure the extra water get back to the sump you can also drill some holes in the RO hose .Or better yet get some ro water JG tee fittings and you can put a RO hose the the tee and run the hose anywhere you like. what size is the input fitting on the deltec?

Ok but do you think that will relieve it from enough pressure? Or do I need to go to the source the pump itself?

The Orange Knob is the only means to regulated incoming water. It is about to blow if I were to keep the pump running this way.

Tagareef that is always a option later on. I love the sleak setup you have.

You can put is many tees as you need also the 404 have wter galon adjustmen at the pump be sure is at is lowest you can use a large 1/2"FPT tee right at the pump to relieve the presure and use the corect size hose to the skimmer.

I think I have a Maxijet 1200 going into my Calcium Reactor, and I have a hose pinching clamp on the output of the reactor above the effluent cup.

You can order a needle-valve from aquaticeco.com for about $16 that will fit RO/DI tubing.

Here is a quick picture for you to see what i think will work for as. you can make the small 1/2"hoses is long as you like the tee need to be 1/2" also.

Awesome!!!

I took my Mini-606 the bigger version of your 404 and rigged it up. So far so good. But it is a temp job.

I pushed a threaded nipple in the end of my 606 it was a extra one I had from my Dwyer flow meter.

Zoom me and Travis talked about in the past a setup with a litermeter with my Kalk topoff also. It really is the best way to go but not right now.

Good News all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will be recieving my new sump very soon:) It was never a rush thing so I told that person who made it to just work on it when he gets a chance.

Lets just say this person has been in continual contact with me through the whole process of designing to progress:)

Ok

Next question..........

Deltec Calcium Reactors are only needed to run 12 hours a day. Per instructions... But basically it is based on the need of your tank.

I also only plan on running it for a certain amount of time since I would have Low PH issues if I were to run it all day.

Now the question..

What do I hook the timer up to?

Right now I have

Powerstrip-Plug from Milwakee controller-CO2 Soleniod plug

Where in that sequance is the proper place to but the Timer??

Also I assume I should stop the feed pump also?

I'm posting this in the Deltec forum also.
