75g cuc

The problem is I only have 3 small fish and a cleaner shrimp in the tank right now. After quarantining everything, it'll be another 5 months till it is fully stocked (and my biggest fish, a Kole tang, will be last), so i'll add more later down the road.

Part of the clean up crews job is to condition the sandbed, if you have one. The snail poo give the bacteria something to eat so it multiplies and they nip algae problems in the bud. I'm not sure why people think half a dozen snails is enough to be effective in a 50+ gallon tank. The different types of snails perform different work in different parts of your tank, some for glass, some for rocks, some for sand...they all have a job. I depend on my Nasarrian Army to take care of my sand...it's amazing to see them pop out of the sand when I feed the tank.

I think the OP is receiving around 60+snails. Personally, I added my CUC in three stages and it worked out well. My only regret was not starting with Dwarfs and Nasarrian right out of the gate. They are a must if you have sand.

Yeah I'm getting around 60 for now. How many nassarius do you keep and what size tank? Do you stir up and clean your sand bed often? The idea of leaving the sand bed alone is appealing to me... I have about a 2" bed

I'm curious about the Nasarrius army as well.

I keep around 12. It seemed like a lot for my 56g, but they are doing great. And I never touch my sand. Between them, 30 or so Dwarfs a serpent star and my hermits the sand gets picked and turned daily. I just took a peek at the tank and my sand is getting worked right now. I'm at about a 2" bed as well.
