75g reef tank build

Aqueon proflex 4. It's huge I wouldn't recommend it because of lack of space. Lots of room for a refugium though. The return section is large also. I will take more pictures of the undercarriage tonight or tomorrow night.

Update 1/28/2015

Tank is running super smooth
Lights are working and even the metal halides are working. Haven't used them much though.
Just finished moving over all my livestock, well most of it.
Skimmer is in the break in point right now.
Fish seem to be doing good. Tang actually ate something this afternoon. I will wait to feed the clown for a day or two.
This will be a picture post for sure. Enjoy!

Does any one know how to setup the hydro ato? I turn it on and it blinks at me. Not sure what that means. Sensor is in the sump and pump in a bucket.

I heard a lot about the jbj unit. I chose the hydor ATO because it uses temperature probes and not float switches. More of a fail safe I guess. My corals really like the t-5 compact fluorescents. I haven't used the metal halides yet.

I bought a reef brite mh hybrid fixture for my 36x24x20. Thing is seriously bright. I probably won't run the mh until I by some corals.

I had a friend that ran a 3x250 watt oddysea fixture on his reef tank and he grew some sps corals out to a pretty large size. Overall he was really happy with it. He told me he heard the ballast had some over heating problems but not his.

I purchased my unit used so it's one of the older models. Probably needs to compact fluorescents. I really like how bright it is now can't imagine with new bulbs. Any one have a recommended bulb color? Actinic is what's in it now.

Had some detritus on the rocks last night. That means we are getting some where. I move some corals around my nuclear candy cane is really happy with the light. I haven't even been using the halides.

Update 2/4/15

I plan on getting a small goby and a few crabs. Is my tank ready for a bubble tip? I want that to be my main display coral. Any feedback is awesome. Thanks

Update 2/5/15
I introduced an engineer Goby to the system last night, seems to be doing good.
I also got my GFO and Carbon reactor up and running.
Will work on my ATO tonight or tomorrow so that is 100%.
Temperature is around 78-79
Will post a few pictures tomorrow or tonight, the corals are really responding to the lights. I also did give them some coral frenzy and they are twice the size as they were 3 days ago!

Thanks for following along guys

Your tank is good for a bubble tip as long as your parameters are stable. Better to add him now so he can find a place he likes before adding more corals.

What?! This tank has only been up for a couple of weeks.

No, your tank is not ready for a bubble tip, or any anemone for that matter. The new sand and rock you added hasn't even had time to really get populated with bacteria. Let the tank mature. Nothing good happens fast.

9 days is moving a bit fast for adding any kind of live stock after your initial tang and and clown. I assume you moved your live rock from the old tank to the new? Have you been testing all of your water parameters? and what have the readings been over the past 9 days?

-I'd still give it time be patient.. but if you answered yes to both questions and perfect water conditions for a BTA then.. you can do as you please...

Give things like 30 days would be my advice though. Going too fast with adding things can lead to mass unexplained die off..
