When I bought it the 'nem was very bleached and about half-dollar sized...8 months of good water quality, lighting and occasional feedings and it has regained alot of it's zooxanthellae and probably doubled in size (along with the clowns haha) Can you tell I'm proud? lol

Thanks. I started seeing brown spots about 2-3 months ago (so, after about 4-5 months in my tank)....thought it was sick!

Thought I'd post another anemone growth update...lost it's bubbly tips but keeps gaining color. And a FTS for fun.

Nice nem.

I've had one about 5 months and it was bleached when I received it. I fed it often and it colored up nicely, but it did lose its bubble tips.

I moved it to my new 180 about 6 weeks ago. I moved the rock it was attached to and place it much higher in the new tank. The bubbles returned. Maybe you can move yours higher?

My BTA moved all the time in my other tank (55gallon) it hasnt moved an inch since I put it in the new tank. I went from T5's to full spectrum LEDs.

Oh cool! Wish I could move mine higher...it is currently unmovable (on a foundation piece of live-rock) but I'll keep that in mind...mine is also under leds and seems to be liking it.

My nem is brand new and my first nem so by no means am I commenting on my "success" at this point, but only wanted to add that I too have LEDs, and because my nem was just a little thing when I brought him home, no matter where I tried to put him 'up high' he just blew away instantly so I finally gave up and shoved him into the sand right at the base of my rock. He's always fully bubbled when the lights are on (and let's it all hang out/non-bubbled when they are off) and hasn't moved an inch from the spot where I placed him. Maybe BTAs just respond very well to LED lighting??

That's great the anemone recovered so well. They go where they're happy as a rule.

Mazzy that's great...I agree with what 'dc' commented and what you discovered; you can move these guys where you want but they will settle down wherever they're happy. Mine spent the first 8 months or so on a side rock, viewable but nowhere near where it is today. Without thinking about the nem I moved a powerhead to the opposite side of tank to try and target a deadspot, and the next morning the nem was where it is shown in my FTS...I was stoked!

Awesome recovery! What do you feed and how often?
Thanks! When I was rehabbing it I fed it a large krill every 1-2 weeks. Now every once in a while (one a month? ) I'll turkey baster some of the frozen brine/mysis mix I feed my fish, but only when they don't seem hungry enough to eat it all. I easily will go 1-2 months without feeding it...
