8" T. derasa not worth clown eggs

I thought this was cute untill I realized that this is why my T. derasa has not been extending his mantle on one side for a few days. Those ocellaris are rubbing him to death. I don't have any intention of breading this clutch so I'm probaly just going to pull it out and scrap them off.

you could always wait untill the eggs hatch and just move the clam. if you put it back in the same place the clowns will lay eggs on it again.

Good point about moving the clam, I think I'll try that. My only fear is that they will hunt it down and continue to host it. Ever since my buddy took his LTA away from them they have been hosting this clam.

put a smooth rock or slate or tike next to it. They may prefer laying on that instead. My clowns never lay their eggs in the same spot.

i didnt know they were living in the clam, in that case i would do as jmaneyapanda says and place a tile or something right in the same spot as the eggs are now.

They very could be, they were a rescue opp from a crashed tank and I never got around to asking specifics. Now that I look that the ammount of black on them you're problay right. The reason I didn't think true perc is because these two are bullet proof and have lived thru some real tuff situations that I didn't think true percs could withstand.

Come to think of it, that T. derasa came from the same tank crash and is bullet proof as well. Thoes three are die-hards.

Speaking of the clam, does anyone else think that white spot near the intake siphon is localized bleaching? I just put in 10K's from 14's and with the clowns this guy is probaly not super happy.

yes, but it dosent look too bad. the whole clam should lighten up some with the new 10ks. it looks a little brown now

nice! is interesting, but clowns seem to be attracted to clams, not sure why. I had a pair of Ocelaris that would host my Gigas.
