So I've had a IM lagoon 25 running since September and i really wanted 2 tanks so i picked up a red sea max 250. But trying to have 2 tanks running is too much for me so my wife said get rid of one. I said I'll get rid of 2 but get one I really want. She said fine. So I'm going with a Aquarium Masters 80 shallow. Hopefully I'll pick it up this weekend. I have will be transferring my rock and coral from my lagoon and rock from my red sea which is now sold. The money will go towards paying the tank. I will be using my dosing pump and ato from the lagoon for this build. I'm still debating the plumbing. A buddy of my buddy posted a sump and other reef stuff on CL he had q trigger systems crystal elite 36 for 100$ He ended up giving it to me. He also had a eshopps 150 skimmer and I gave him frags for that. So my skimmer and sump situation is good.

I trader another reefer a Mr aqua 12 long for 2 Acan lighting led fixtures they are older but have built in timers. I will run them for now.

Sorry to say it but that stand doesn't look that safe. All the weight of the tank is just supported by screws in shear. Also if we have just a small earthquake, the entire thing could fold up. Are you planning on doing any cross bracing or skinning with plywood?

The best stand plan for 2x material can be found at http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1169964

I was thinking the same thing. Was just hoping that the wood to the left was going to be used for extra support.

Hahaha sorry forgot to post more pics. This tank is up and running now. Here is the final stand. Yes there are supports on each side of the vertical pieces. No way would I trust it as it was in the pics lol. I wanted a manifold so I made one using gate valves. I had never done plumbing but it turned out good. I thought I was going to have leaks but luckily only on a seam on my algae scrubber but I fixed it. Also the gate valves didn't make a full seal but I added a hose into my sump with a barbed ball valve so we're good there. I have that there until I'm ready to use them. My plan to use them will be for my floating pull out drawer frag tank. I'm using reef crystals as my salt. I was really nervous transferring my stock over but I didn't lose anything and didn't get a cycle. I am having some diatoms but that was expected with using rock that was in my red sea with out lights for 3 months. Hopefully my more mature rock helps spread the good stuff around. I had a mishap when I was filling up my tank. I left 2 gate valves open when I started my pump water shot out and drenched me and most landed on a water proof mat I have. But everything is running great I just need lights for my scrubber. Also how long do you guys run your lights? Here are some pics. The stand has removable panels so I can access all the sump. What do you guys think? I need more stock because tank looks empty now. This was my old tank the 25 lagoon

Little update

Nopox is death in a bottle.
Kessils kick ***
Takes a while to balance tank after nopox
Sps bleach and corals die
But as long as one poly survive it will come back
I made a custom sump running a kessil h380
But what I've gained is less is more.

Tank looks pretty good. I’d stop focusing on low numbers. If nopox killed stuff it’s cause the levels were already low and it stripped the nutrients. A skimmer and a modest fuge is plenty. You’ll rarely see truely successful tanks with ultra low nutrients, and when you do it’s cause they are adding them all back in with expensive garbage like zeovit and aqua forest stuff.
