9.4 gal shallow acrylic cube

I love that little cuc. Can't believe it split and is doing well. Do you feed anything for filter feeders? Love the tank.

Hey guys,

Thanks for reviving the thread ;)

The tank has seen better days, but still running strong. I have been very busy with work, vacations, this that and the other. Unfortunately the tank was placed on the back burner for the better part of the last few months. I have even broken one of the cardinal rules of topping off with tap water (no real algae growth from it though thank god!)

Right now the livestock is as follows:
2 clowns
1 small serpent star
1 cucumber that split into 2
1 pompom crab
1 feather duster
1 clam
1 small long spine urchin (to help with the coraline growth on the acrylic)
4 small emerald crabs
Bunch of hermit and snails

Coral:
zoanthids - 3 different types
green star polyps
frogspawn - 2 types
Purple gorgonian doing surprisingly well

Food:
I feed only cyclopeze.
I believe the tank feeds itself somehow

All the fish I used to have jumped out. the 2 shrimp I had got sucked into the overflow. The really nice monti I had - not sure what happened.

The refugium has grown out of control. Cheato has at least 10x in size. calurpa so big its growing out of the refugium into other chambers.

All my chem levels are perfect, and I have been doing maybe 5 gallon water changes every 2-3 months

this is a great looking system, I really love the yellow cucumbers, wonderful splash of color to the tank!

That sand sure has nice bacteria. I don't they have 1 cent gory any more. Dang. For one cent I want one

love your tank mate, i was thinking about getting a cube but i went with a 23Lx11Wx`6H but i love how small your tank is, small tanks to me are harder to make look good if that makes scene.

Ill try to get some updated pics tonight. Its looking much better - I cleaned the glass and the sand.

My cucumber also split again....now have 3 of them lol.

That fuge is my favorite part of this setup. It looks like a seahorses playground. That three tier stand is pretty creative. Well done!

Hey guys,

sorry for the lack of updates - life has been crazy busy.

I just closed on my first house dec 27th - the tank made the move on Jan 20th. From what I can tell, everything made it. I noticed that the water in the house has a slight chlorine taste, so im going to need an RO unit ASAP.

I cant believe this tank has been running over a year now! Seems like just yesterday I was designing and building the lack stands from Ikea. However, since im now in a bigger, more permanent location, I think its time to start the plans for the big tank (70 cube or a 75 standard).

That said, I will try to get some new pics up - camera is still in a box somewhere, so iphone might have to do.

Thanks for your comments!
