9 new Banger additions

Seriously?
Just wanted to share the 9 new Bangaii fry that I caught today. The poppa fooled me. He was in a 10 gallon tank to keep him seperate from that irritation of the female Bangaii. It appeared that his mouth had shrunk significantly and I thought that he me have eaten them. So I scooped him out this morning to put him back with his partner and he spit 9 out. Dang! didn't want that to happen. So, I got these 9, the BBS should be hatching tomorrow. In addition, I think he is holding more. Total rookie mistake. Live and learn.

I am beginning to see the attraction for this fish. They were that big when they popped out his mouth, he must have a big mouth.
 
I had always wondered that too...where in the heck does he put them all? I am sure that he has a few more in there. I have heard of clutches in the 20's. Totally bulging!
 
Checked the breeder tank this morning before work....no little ones scooting around. Still the original 9. Hope he gives a few more up. Will give the 9 their first feeding tonight when I get home.
 
Freshly hatched brine shrimp is tonight's special. They won't get the HUFA fortified tonight, that will start tomorrow. I have to find a trick to get these guys off of the baby brine shrimp ASAP. I had one left from the last hatch that lived for 5 weeks. I was fortifying the brine shrimp and mixing ground up mysis in it. He still had SFS and one day he just never came back to life after being frightened. I hope to not go down the same path with these guys. Off to feed go I.

I have only 11 6 week bangers, I had 20 a week ago :(

I'm finding it really hard to get any of them onto prepared foods.

Still have 8 and I got them to eat a little shaved mysis....totally shocked was I. What is the best method for getting the mysis super small. I know that the earlier I get them off of NHBS the better. There was alot of waste in teh tank after I put it in because it was too large for them to go after and even try to eat. But there were smaller sized (NHBS size) that they dove after. Any suggestions?
 
Update. I still have 8 and they are eating fine and all look healthy. And to note....I have not witnessed SFS in these guys yet. I have them in a 10 gallon tank with an eclipse hood and a divider in the tank. I originally had them on the output side of the pump. I thought this would be a good thing due to keeping things moving around when I start to try to feed frozen foods. Well it semed to be too much current for them. So I had to corral them over to the other side of the tank on the input side of the hood. That's why the pictures may look different :) I have gotten some frozen Cyclopeeze and frozen rotifers introduced into their diet. I get them to eat them first before adding the NHBS.

Having said that..anyone know if that is a good thing to add to their diets? I mean are the frozen Rots and Cyclopeeze higher in HUFA's than the NHBS (under 24 hours) or even after having enriched them with phyto for a few hours before feeding.

Do they really come out that size? I had 3 Bangai offspring in my tank that I did nothing to try and raise. I thought they came out tiny. I found 3 in the overflows and 2 in the tank but only 3 have survived to date.

Right now my overflows and sump are teeming with baby fish and I assumed they were Bangais but they are tine (3-5mm long) and have no shape. So I guess they are baby Clarkiis. Bummer, as they won't survive. :(
