nothing much to say right now
i fixed the cracked center frame brace
sand is in
aquascaping now (ray i am sure i'll use almost all the rock i got from u )

FINALLY i got a bucket of sand
(coralife 150 g mix)
will be mixing saltwater up tomorrow ( maybee getting it in the tank if i can get the rockscaping done)
tomorrow i will get the mud in the fuge

ray how about a pic on how the froggie's doin'

not much today worked 11 hrs and am tired
but the rockscaping is just about done with the exception of a concern about a few rocks that have some bluish green spots/ areas on them
not sure if i should use them

most of the formation is done but is clear i will have to do something to stabilize the formation

(i'm rockscaping on a peice of plywood)
so after i get the rocks to look the way i want them
i was going to silicone the rocks together to give it some stability
because i plan to have a couple of blennys -(scooter ,diamond)

what do u think of that idea?

A much better approach would be to use the rock shapes to interlock into each other. Another popular method is to drill some holes and use acrylic or fiberglass rods to hold them in place (something similar to the mini-blind closers would work).

Bean

having a difficult time tring to scape the rocks to a useable formation
want to have two small islands with a diagonal swimming channel
with the rocks i have its not so easy

done (finally)
and looks good
lotsa hidy holes, ledges and areas to put frags
now gotta fill with nsw
put in the mud and start cycling
should be short though will buy that aragilive live sand to put over the mud as the directions say
and in about 3 weeks will put in some chaetomorpha
and get my light
was going to get a 65w loa outside landscaping security light

any recomendations for a good fuge light

well today i got some 1/4 inch acrylic for the tops and bought a cheap shoplight at hd to light the tank
will put in the fish in a day or two
think the tang first (dorry )
or maybee the 2 blue devil damsels

dont cover the top of the tank with plexiglass, itll keep in heat and will prevent good gas exchange. if you want to cover the top of the tank for fear of fish jumping out, use eggcrate, which can be baught at homedepot or lowes in the lighting isle. other than that your tank doesnt really need to be covered.

today i cleaned my hv1 skimmer(excalibur w mj bioball mod)
and put it on my sump (1st chamber)
i have those diatoms all over the rocks
will the skimmer help reduce the diatoms?
i know they are a normal sight in starting up a tank
but was just wondering if it wil help

well the rocks are coloring up now i have red and green pots all over most of the rocks
looks kinda psychidelic (wow groovy man!) lol

Great! .....and to answer your question above about will the skimmer help get rid of the diatoms.....since it is a new tank it's just normal cycle (like you said), and yes the skimmer will help.
