That was gonna be my second guess. Perhaps the tile is leaching silicates?

The tile has been used in over 30 builds with no problem, its pure limestone. The interior of the tank was scrubbed clean. I wonder if it could be the rock or sand we used...

I think some of the water we used was possibly non RODI, that's the only explanation I have.

Okay so I tossed in a couple of poly filters, changed the carbon and put my GFO online. While I was at the shop I picked up some of my first inhabitants a powder blue tang, naso tang, chevron tang and 5 green chromis. Sorry about the shaky cam but at least you can watch it in HD!:

Once its done I am going to do so through the local nature center. I am going to try to get some local schools to bring their science classes through. I may join a local reef keeping society and hold some meetings at my house.

Great, build love watching this one. So nice and clean, I like the tile on the inside but more impressed with the tile on the outside. I have been thinking of doing something very similar so this will be a great build to convince the wife. Right now I just have drywall there and it looks ok, but not as nice as it could. When I built it I knew I would be coming back to re-do the front, but it has yet to happen.

I sent you a PM on who to contact for the tile. In terms of the noise, the tank top is going to be made of solid Walnut with a layer of sound deadening material and a layer of epoxy paint. There will be no sound to speak of one we are done.

Things are slow at the moment. I am waiting on the shipment of LEDs from Acan lighting and the trim and woodwork to be completed. I have a clean up crew order coming in early next week I hope, and it looks like my 210 is going to be moved up a week from Friday. I really can't wait to start getting some corals and more fish in there. Even with the 3 rather large fish the tank looks empty!
