I've noticed a couple of reference to a new series of skimmers--when are these supposed to be available?

I couldn't find any info in the Tunze site--are the specs and prices available?

I was thinking of buying a Tunze skimmer, but wondering if I should wait on the new line. How are they different from the current offering?

TIA

The new units are really nice. They are multipurpose and adaptable for in tank or in sump use. They can be switched from open loop skimming to closed loop plankton safe skimming. In sump they function a lot like an H and K or a Euroreef with the stand pipe style outlet. They are nice looking we use black plastic the standpipe is made for us by Spears in the US of black PVC. The venturi screw is blue and the logo is blue, overall they look very sharp. They have about 50% more power than what we currently offer in full open loop mode. The problem is they are delayed until February because we are debating a few designs for the open- closed loop adjustment which is essential to preventing bubbles in in tank installations. We need some tests of our different designs because while we want a tight fit we have to allow for the normal growth of coralline and the like without preventing the smooth operation of the piece and such tests take time.

Sorry, for more details go to www.tunze.com and select the New Interzoo 2004 flyer in the bottom left corner. Download the PDF. The pictures are not accurate as we had not finished the product when the flyer was made. Interzoo is like the Detroit Auto Show, it is a show of what everyone is working on and quite often things are still concepts at the show and need more work.
