Hi Rodger
I have 2 9001 skimmers in my 2 nano aquariums. Both lean bad on the magnet mounts. Is there a fix for this or should I super glue them on.
Thanks Adrian

Are the magnets the older model with the 4 rubber feet, or the new style with the silicon ring around them? I have had a few other such complaints and never really been able to get to the bottom of the cause, I have not encountered this myself so I would like to try to understand why this is happening.

I have a meeting with Mr. Tunze next week, I will try to get a resolution and I will also check on this here. I did have one set up an MACNA and it had the new magnets and I did not encounter this. My suspicion is that the tabs are damaged or the magnet mounting plate is too thin.

Thanks Rodger
My pump is set up as it comes. Maybe the pump set up for the other 2 configurations might not pull on the tabs so hard. But in my setup I don't have a choice.
Thanks Adrian

I don't think the pump orientation would be a culprit, it has to be an issue of the magnet or body.

Hi Rodger
Did u get to the bottom of y the skimmers are loose on the magnet mount. I have both mine jammed with a bit of hose. To keep it level but not really ideal any help I would appreciate.
Thanks
Adrian

Hi Adrian,

We did discuss this issue, my apologies for forgetting to reply. The cause 90% of the time is the tabs on the body are bent, broken or deformed, 10% of the time the holes that they plug into in the magnet are oversize. We will transition to a different mount in about 6 months, the tabs will be eliminated and in place will be 4 holes that attach the skimmer to the magnet with silicon bushings similar to how the 9012 and our pumps mount to the magnets. For now the likely resolution is a new body.

Hi Rodger
Thanks for the reply,I'm in Australia so I would contact aquadepot to source the new body when they are available so can I glue it for now? Only problem with that is I would need a new inside magnet. For the new body as well.
Thanks
Adrian

I would not glue it, that would mean you would have to buy a new magnet, I would report it as a warranty issue but it would mean taking the body that is available now, however, if it holds that would be all that really matters.
