9002 Major MicroBubble Problem

I will try to run it in a friends tank and get back to you.

I use Oceanic sea salt, started the mix on sun. did water change on tue. . No other problems, my corals stayed open for the change and are still ok. Never had problem after a water change before.

When taking 9002 apart, I noticed that the venturi pipe does not fit tight into the pump, could this be why the bubbles are coming out of the bottom?

It doesn't take much force to take it out, it is a loose fit but should be tight enough that it doesn't fall out on its own.

FWIW my skimmer took a couple weeks to get slimed up a little and now there are no bubbles at all after a month. I have had several different kinds of skimmers and it's normal.

After a couple of weeks our bubble production has diminished, so I agree with Roger's diagnosis that something in the water created the latest bubble outbreak.

We still have some bubbles in the tank, and we've never been completely bubble free, but it's nothing like what we saw in the last outbreak and the skimmer is producing a nice skimmate.
