9002 skimmer in 50 gallon sumpless

Hi Roger would you recommend the 9002 nano skimmer in a SPS frag tank of about 50 gallons, not very high fish load only a few pest hunting fish.

What about the discharge of bubbles from the skimmer is that going to cause bubbles in the tank without any compartments?

does it really only take up 5" x 2" or so in the tank?

I don't think it is enough for an SPS tank of that size, SPS produce a lot of chemical compounds that restrict the growth of other SPS. it may work with a lot of water changes but otherwise you need a bigger skimmer.

I have a 9005 in my 40g cube and it works like a champ. I thought about the 9010, but the 9005 is sized perfectly with power to spare. The tank will inhabit SPS. I run it internally so it was the natural choice.

I run it internally and there are minimal bubbles if any. It is the way to go for a smaller tank. Who needs the hassle and inefficiency of a sump when you can treat the water right in the tank. Takes up less room than an overflow.
