9010/9015 and Sump Water Level

I'm expecting delivery of a 9015 soon. I have a question regarding setup in a sump. I see reference to a max water line on the skimmer, presumably around 11 inches. What happens if the water temporarily exceeds that line. Inefficent skimming? Or potential damage to the skimmer?

The reason I ask is that when I shut off the main pump to the display (for feedings or maintenance of some kind) the water level in the sump rises 2 1/2 inches from the tank overflow. If I'm running 10 inches of water depth in the sump normally, it would rise to 12.5 inches with the pump off.

Is that going to a problem?

Another question as a follow-up...

The 9015 arrived, and I've successfully gotten it running in the sump. The water is exiting the output pipe, and I'm getting foam up to maybe an inch above the unit's housing. I'm assuming that this will rise as the unit is broken in over the next couple of days.

Now, I'm sort of stupid. I did the clearance measurements underneanth my stand and found that I had plenty of room for the higher skimmer cup on the 9015. But what I didn't consider was actually REMOVING the cup and getting it over the edge of the sump and out the smaller doors! I can do it by tilting it about 45 degrees, and that will be OK so long as the cup isn't too full (and it should skim drier as it's taller) but I'm wondering if I shouldn't replace the larger cup for the one on the 9010. I checked the spare parts list on the Tunze site and I see the cup for the 9005 and the 9015, but I don't see the 9010 (part #0220.14 per the manual).

Is that part available?

I have the cups on hand, I may even have a used one you can pick up at a discount, let me check.

The skimmer will restart once the water level drops back down below 11".
