9010 DOC skimmer sump output...can it be altered?

I want to run a low level of ozone through my 9010 skimmer for a few hours a day...mainly for water clarity. Ideally, I'd like to have the water exiting the skimmer to run over a bag of carbon. However, it is hard to do with the stock output (for in-sump use). What I would like to do is add an elbow to the output and direct it towards a baffled area in my sump that contains a bag of carbon. Would this affect the skimmer's performance?

TIA,

I don't think this would work, you know at present the trend is to run extremely low doses of ozone and if you run this way with about 1mg/hr 100l you don''t need carbon and you get the clarifying effect, just no sterilant effect.

Hey Roger

Thanks for the info...thats where I was kind of going. Im not looking run large amounts of ozone...my generator only puts out 30mg/hr and thats with a drier...which I am not using. My system is around 200g total volume. So thats around 750l...and I would want to run around 7-8mg/hr. I suppose I can add an air valve before the generator to decrease adjust the amount of ozone.

I did experiment with putting an elbow at the end of the output for the skimmer. It seems to work at first but then a few hours later...it looks like either the weight of the elbow causes the tube to detach from the skimmer...actually detaches the tube and the rectangular piece that it is attached to as well.
