9010 pump issue - right from package

Yes, I didn't have any problem with mysis, brine, Spectrum and Formula 2 pellets but only with frozen Angel Formula this morning. I'll monitor closely over the next week or two at night and see what happens but will report back.

On a side note--I received the 9020.140 foam extraction unit last week but the hose is way too short to connect it to the rubbermaid 20g container on the floor as I'm running the 9010 in tank. How do I go about getting a longer hose? Thanks.

The hose is a kit with anchors and some other parts, it is part 1075/2 MD should have them.

9010 Pump problem

Roger,

I purchased the 9010 back in May 2007 and the pump came in defected and thanks to you it was resolved quickly. The pump stopped functioning again and it just kind of vibrating and not pushing any water out. I took the impeller out and had it cleaned and still the same then took the small black plastic tabs out and now I can't put it back together. I've a heavy bioload and need a quick repair. Please let me know what is the best way of doing this.

Thanks!

Can you PM me your name and address so I can look the repair up?

Roger,

Thanks for the quick reply. PM sent with old address and current new address.

Roger,

Thanks for the quick response and I got the replacement part on 1/28 and after putting the pump back together the skimmer is working better than before it went down. It had a lot of foam which I haven't seen in a long time so I guess the pump was going a while back. Thanks again for the great service.

btw--do you have a used 9010/9015 for sale? I could use another one. If you do please call me or PM me. Thanks.

I don't have any used skimmers at the moment.

Please keep me in mind and I'll check this forum more often.

Have a great weekend!

Hi Roger,

Since the repair the pump has been acting up for a while now but kind of ignoring it and kept taking it out to get the pump working again. The problem is everytime I shut off the skimmer for feeding the pump won't restart so I just let it go by not shutting it off but if the power goes off and I need to clean it just will not restart.

Any idea what's wrong with it and what I need to do to fix it?

Thanks!

Have you tried just disassembling the pump and giving it a thorough cleaning? It will be virtually the same as the Stream pump in the first thread in this forum about driver alarms. The shaft and an impeller versus a propeller will be the only differences.

Yes, I've taken the pump apart and washed under hot water only as it didn't seem dirty. I'll soak it in vinegar the next couple of days and see how it goes. In the meantime I'll read that post.
