9010 skimmer after cleaning

hi,

when i clean the skimmer cup/reactor it is taking a long time for the skimmer to start producing any skimate again..
i am using using the supplied brush, trying to keep my fingers outisde of the rektor etc..
should the reaktor be cleaned with ordinary water ?
cleaned spotless ?
is there anything i can do to start it skimming again more quickly ?..

i have had worse than this but for example...cleaned it last night about 7pm and now 5pm in the uk..nothing produced...it is foaming but not rising up the rector tube ..

If you did some tank cleaning at the same time and stirred up some detritus or sand or changed water, this wouldn't be too unusual.

Mine usually quits producing foam for a few hours or more after a cleaning. It always starts back up when I'm not around. A watched pot never boils.
