9010 too much foam

I have had my 9010 for afew months. Great product and GREAT service! I just relocated the 9010 from in my tank to my sump. Cleaned it real good. This a new sump that holds 15 gallon of water, which I just filled with new saltwater. My tank is a 58 gallon. my concern is now my skimmer has so much foam that the collection cup is overfilling. I have the air screw all the way in? Thanks for any help!

New saltwater will often do this, give it some time. Usually this will stop in 3 days or so. The new slatwater likely has some sort of colloid or surfactant in it that is causing this. Some salts use amino acid complexed trace elements and or stress coat/ dechlor additives.

Is it possible---that the skimmer was to deep in the sump (below thw water line)? I say this because for some reason I raised the skimmer and it now is doing fin?
