Hey Roger i set my skimmer on a timer to turn off a couple hours a night and the last two nights went it fires back up the brakes get jambed and it doesnt work?
The drive unit was sent to me by you about 6 months ago and gets cleaned on a regular basis.any advice?

Yes, this is why the parts went out of production for repairing the molds, the parts were out of spec and this is exactly what would happen, we limped by for the last 6 months by trying to hand fit these parts. I will send a replacement if you PM me your info, we expect some in two weeks. In the meantime, avoid switching off.

Hey Roger,
Received the new driver unit for my 9010 this morning,thank you so much.
Just a quick question...what is the differents between this driver and the one i got from you at the first of the year?

Also performance wise would it be over kill to upgrade to the new style pump on my 60 cube w/ mostly zoa/lps?The main reason is Ive been told by you and others that the new pump is alot quiter.If so i might ask the wife to get me it for xmas.=0)

The molds that make the parts had worn and had a build up of plastic and needed to be cleaned and repaired, as a result of this wear and build up parts were slightly off spec. They were hand fitted but this is less than a perfect solution and they didn't last as long as they should in some cases. The replacement was made last month after a overhaul of the molds.

The new pumps are about 25% quieter in my estimation. They use an electronic system to get the impeller spinning the right way. They are quieter and it is an advantage I suppose but I am a gear head more than an electronics person and so I prefer mechanical systems to electronic systems. That is my personal prejudice because I can understand and repair a clutch or brake system but an electronic system sealed in polyurethane is not repairable and while I understand how it works and it is simpler and quieter, I would rather swap brakes or a brake ring then a motor long term.

Losing faith in the 9010..............
well I installed the new driver unit yesterday and the thing was loud as hell,
Not to sure whats going on.

So what ive do so far was run it in vin/water for a couple hours and also flipped the bushing 180 and it started up and was still loud so i unplugged it for a bit then when i tured it on it rattled and banged then the brakes locked up.
I just need some help on what i can do or check.It just sucks because my sump was custom made around that skimmer.
