9012 pumps

Hi Rodger,
The needle wheel impeller in my skimmer broke. Phil send me a new one under warranty but I also bought a spare pump. Pretty expensive.
So I have a buyer for my 9012, as I have converted to a larger tank, sump & skimmer. Im sure he won't purchase the extra pump & the market for someone with a 9012 is not that large yet.
Can we jury rig it to fit in a 9011, replacing the standard pump in there?
Thanks

First, we are sorry about the broken needle wheel, when the 9012 was launched their was a flaw with the impellers and they needed hand machining to finish them, the process was not always perfect and could result in stresses that later caused failures. This has been resolved for several months now.

The 9012 pump won't work in the 9010/9011, we tried this early on in the 9010 development and the design of the body is such that the air builds up and basically the body becomes a big air bubble after 2-3 days as the air to water ratio is too high.

Think I will have a stroke soon. Never have I attempted to reassemble anything so difficult with the worse instructions/blow up I have seen. Not sure where I can find a better one. Looking everywhere.
I can't even find a pic that shows where the cord exits on the reassemble steps.
Need help Rodger
Thanks
Doug

Never mind. I knew if I asked I would figure it out. :ape:
Found another blown apart and expanded it out until I could actually see something.
Also thinking now that I have my knew pump and extra needle wheel, I may redo my sump to an 11in. overflow for the Tunze and sell the larger SWC. 9012 skims almost as well.

I also found it frustrating to disassemble and reassemble, when I complained I was told that it was based on the 9004 which people complained did not close tight enough, then with the 9012 they made it close very tight. Once I got the hang of it I can do them fairly easily now but a lot of parts have to line up just right. They did change the intermediate plate so it has a hook on the bottom and is much easier to line up as a result.
